Michael Demetriades was an established hockey player while playing for Branford High School. During his senior season, Michael was captain and subsequently tallied 24 goals and 22 assists leading the Hornets into the State Playoffs. His efforts earned him Team MYP honors, the Southern Connecticut Conference Division 2 First Team recognition, the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Division 2 All-State First Team, and the 2002-2003 New Haven Register All-Area Hockey Team.
